MarAd finds no environmental impact for Anchorage intermodal work

The U.S. Maritime Administration said it found no significant environmental impacts for a project to expand an existing road and rail operations at Alaska’s Anchorage seaport.

MarAd conducted the environmental study in cooperation with the Port of Anchorage. The study considered potential effects on air and water quality; geology and soils; coastal resources; terrestrial resources; aquatic resources; navigation; hazardous materials; and historic resources of the expansion work.
