Marisol International to open first Asian offices

   Marisol International, the Springfield, Mo.-based non-vessel-operating common carrier and freight forwarder, will open its first ever offices in Asia at the end of the year.

   Marisol said its new offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai are scheduled to open in December. Before that, the company is opening offices in New York and Los Angeles at the end of this month. Next spring, Marisol will open new and larger facilities at its headquarters in Springfield, as well as Kansas City.

   The expansion “is designed to further increase service and gateway management at interface ports,” according to Marisol.

   “New York and Los Angeles are obviously key markets for importers. and establishing our own offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai will provide us with a direct presence in Asia for the first time. This will compliment our existing global agent network — providing our customers with even greater levels of logistics support and visibility,” said Mike Vogt, president of Marisol.
