Maryland ends dredge permit for proposed LNG site    The Maryland governor’s office has decided to allow a dredging permit to expire as a way to block the construction of a liquefied natural gas terminal near the Port of Baltimore, the Baltimore Sun reported Friday.
   Barletta Willis, owner of the property for the proposed LNG terminal, had received authority to remove 600,000 cubic yards of dredge material from a shipping channel between the Patapsco River and Bear Creek near Hart Miller Island in October 2004. The newspaper said the contract for this work expires in January.
   Energy giant AES Corp. wants to build a $400 million LNG terminal at Sparrows Point, Md. Under the plan, LNG tankers would deliver the gas to the site and AES would then transport it through a pipeline 87 miles to Pennsylvania, the Sun said.
