MAS POSTS LOSS FOR FISCAL YEAR
Malaysian Airline System reported a loss of 700 million ringgit ($184
million) in the fiscal year ending March 31, compared to a loss of 260
million ringgit in the previous year.
MAS has been one of the airlines hardest hit by Southeast Asia’s
economic problems. The airline’s net loss from foreign currency exchange
exceeded 390 million ringgit for the fiscal year.
The carrier is also reported to owe some $3 billion to creditors.
