Massoel names Fluckiger CEO

   Massoel, a Swiss-based owner and operator of 14 bulk carriers, has appointed Lionel Fluckiger to chief executive officer and made a number of other changes to its management and operational staff.
   He replaces Michael Deslarzes, who left the company at the end of 2011. Before that, Fluckiger was chief financial officer since January 2010 and will retain this role in the company.
   Philip Lord has also been appointed to general manager for commercial, operations and insurance, working out of the group’s Geneva office, while Stewart Hayes was promoted to fleet manager, working under General Manager Trevor Shaw at Massoel (UK) Limited, based in Liverpool. Massoel’s U.K. office provides technical ship management services to the company’s bulker fleet, ranging in size from 7.400 to 50,500 deadweight tons.
