Matson Integrated Logistics forms distribution arm

Matson Integrated Logistics forms distribution arm Matson Integrated Logistics is forming a subsidiary, Matson Global Distribution Services, to expand its services to include warehousing and distribution, freight forwarding and non-vessel-operating common carrier services, the Oakland-based company said Thursday.
   'Matson Global complements our existing product offering — from ocean transit to inland distribution — and enhances our ability to serve our growing domestic base while opening new markets in Asia,' said Robert C. Papworth, MIL president, in a statement. “With its formation, we become a true third-party logistics player.”
   Brian Howver, a 26-year industry veteran, will head the new subsidiary as vice president and managing director, reporting directly to Papworth.
