Calling the service LogisticsWired, the company said that its offering combines Oracle’s TMS offering with the accessibility of a software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering so customers can access existing functionality in a low-risk service.
LogisticsWired will be able to get Oracle Transportation Management up and running on their systems in as little as 12 weeks. MavenWire said the goal with that speed is to change the funding requirements from a capital expenditure to more of an operational cost. The company said providing an accelerated return on investment will be largely based on removing the needs to upgrade infrastructure or make additional IT hires.
LogisticsWired provides operational planning, execution and freight settlement, operational reporting, and proactive monitoring of the transportation network. In addition to the rapid-deployment implementation, LogisticsWired is also available as a custom implementation.
MavenWire said it is confident the service will see adoption because it feels such TMS offerings aren’t available to the full shipper market and, citing a Gartner report, said that SaaS is becoming the preferred deployment method for new services. – Geoff Whiting
