MC Shipping Inc. has acquired the 3,500-TEU Louis Maersk. MC Shipping took
delivery of the 53,000-deadweight-ton ship Monday.
The vessel has been renamed the Maersk Tampa and is fixed on long-term time
charter with Maersk Line.
MC Shipping said the acquisition is the largest vessel in the company’s
history. The company owns and operates a fleet of 24 vessels: 10 gas
carriers, eight containerships, three multipurpose ships and three
sea-river ships.
