MCC to assess emergency bunker fee

   MCC Transport, the intra-Asia subsidiary of the Maersk Line, said Tuesday it will assess an emergency bunker surcharge on its services out of China, Hong Kong and Macau because 'crude oil prices have been on an upward trend since Q4 2010 and escalated quickly.'

   The surcharges are:

   ' $38 per 20-foot container and $76 per 40-foot container from Hong Kong and Macau to Southeast Asia, effective March 7.

   ' $112 per 20-foot container and $224 per 40-foot container, $38 per 20-foot reefer container, and $76 per 40-foot reefer container from South China to Southeast Asia, effective March 7.

   ' $112 per 20-foot container and $224 per 40-foot container from Shanghai, Ningbo and other Yangtze River Delta ports to all other parts of Asia except East Russia, Bangladesh, Japan, South Korea, effective March 6.

   ' $112 per 20-foot container and $224 per 40-foot container from Xiamen, Mawei and Fuzhou to all other parts of Asia except East Russia, Bangladesh, Japan, South Korea, effective March 8.

   ' $112 per 20-foot container and $224 per 40-foot container from North China to all other parts of Asia except East Russia, Bangladesh, Japan, South Korea, effective March 5.
