Mckinney sells storage container division to Pac-Van

After the sale, Mckinney will focus exclusively on its core business of semi-trailer renting and leasing, according to a statement from the company.

Mckinney Trailer Rentals in Pico Rivera, Calif. has sold its Seattle-based storage container division in order “to focus exclusively on its core business of semi-trailer renting and leasing,” the company said in a statement Monday.
The container business was sold to Pac-Van, a part of the publicly-traded company General Finance Corp.
Like Mckinney, Pac-Van does not focus on the leasing of containers to ocean carriers. Instead it is involved in the rental of containers used for storage, modular space such as offices, and liquid containment.
The two companies did not reveal the number of containers involved in the deal or the sales price.
General Finance’s 10-K filing with the SEC said on June 30 it had a container fleet of 72,856 containers – 21,301 units in retail
operations in Australia; 10,263 units in national account group
operations in Australia; 10,178 units in New Zealand, which are
considered retail; and 31,114 units in North America.
