McLeod, Spireon offer joint tracking

   Mobile resource management company Spireon has announced plans to integrate its real-time trailer location data with a load enterprise system from McLeod.
   McLeod, a transportation management software provider, will see its LoadMaster Enterprise system infused with mobile trailer tracking and management options from Spireon’s FleetLocate service. The companies said this will provide customers with better business intelligence and actionable response to that gathered data.
   FleetLocate’s real-time trailer visibility enables fleets to see which trailers are underused, and helps identify areas that need additional trailers. Fleets can also be analyzed to determine where to reduce overall trailer count but maintain the same amount of workload.
   The combined service was first used by Tutle & Tutle Trucking based in Cleburne, Texas. Tutle & Tutle said the integration allowed it to track all its trucks and trailers on a single screen, manage optimization and dispatch orders from the same interface, and see real-time data updates around key performance indicators like mileage, timing, and route locations.
