Medical firm switches gears to trucking

CLX Medical Inc., whose roots are in medical diagnostics, has switched gears to become a trucking company, operating under the name Stealth Logistics Group (SLG).

'We are very excited and confident about this new business model for CLX Medical Inc. Our strategic efficiencies and business platform will focus on building a successful logistics company and create shareholder value,' said Jose Chavez, chief executive officer of CLX Medical and Stealth Logistics Group, in a statement.

In mid-December, SLG and CLX Medical announced the completion of a national truck leasing program, resulting in the lease one to two trucks per month over the next 12 to 24 months. SLG's goal is to have 60 trucks in service by year end 2011.

'In 2010, Stealth’s growth and load volume increased by more than 40 percent and year-to-year volume has seen similar growth. Load volume from the new business is up 48 percent over 2009,” Chavez said.

CLX Medical and Stealth Trucking announced their merger in April 2010, with the goal to complete the action before the end of the year.
