Menlo Worldwide to operate logistics hub for Embraer
Con-Way Inc. third-party logistics subsidiary Menlo Worldwide on Wednesday said it has closed a deal to operate a Singapore-based regional logistics hub providing dedicated service parts warehousing and distribution support for Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer.
Under the deal, the San Mateo-based Menlo has opened a dedicated, 24/7 operation at its Singapore Regional Logistics Hub to provide rapid response fulfillment to Embraer's Asia-based customers. The facility will maintain a complete 20,000-SKU inventory of repairable, expendable and structural parts for Embraer's ERJ 145 and the Embraer 170/190 line of commercial jet aircraft. The program incorporates warehousing, logistics, transportation management and technology services.
The nearly $15 billion Embraer is one of the leading mid-sized commercial aircraft manufacturers in the world and one of Brazil's leading manufacturing exporters, employing nearly 20,000 workers at its facilities in Brazil and offices worldwide.
