Merchants Terminal Corp. becomes MTC Logistics

Merchants Terminal Corp., an 82-year old Maryland-based temperature-controlled logistics services provider, has changed its name to MTC Logistics.

Once, solely a provider of cold storage lockers, local merchants and processors relied on Merchants to warehouse their products. Today, MTC Logistics is a wide-ranging temperature-controlled logistics company that services two-thirds of the U.S. population and reaches international markets around the globe.

'We continue to add to the breadth and depth of our logistics services, and the new name, MTC Logistics, is a clear signal to our clients and the market, of our evolution as a company,' said Harry Halpert, MTC Logistics president, in a statement.

'We continue to invest in the industry as evidenced by the recent opening of a state-of-the-art international distribution center at the Port of Baltimore's Seagirt Marine Terminal, and are positioned for stable growth for years to come,' he added.

MTC Logistics owns and operates four refrigerated warehouses in Maryland and Delaware. Through its transportation subsidiary, MLogistics, MTC Logistics also offers refrigerated less-than-trailerload and full-trailer inland transportation to major retail and foodservice providers in the country.
