MercuryGate integrates with Norfolk Southern intermodal portal

The transportation management software provider completed an integration partnership with Thoroughbred Direct Intermodal Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Norfolk Southern Railroad.    The transportation management software provider MercuryGate on Monday said it has completed an integration partnership with Thoroughbred Direct Intermodal Services, Inc. (TDIS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Norfolk Southern Railroad.
   The partnership allows MercuryGate’s TMS customer direct access to Modal-X, Norfolk Southern’s web-based portal for dynamically priced, door-to-door intermodal rates for transactional freight opportunities.
   The integration enables MercuryGate customers to see rates and reserve capacity from within their TMS.
   “Many of our clients who utilize MercuryGate’s TMS can now secure spot capacity available on Norfolk Southern’s intermodal network without having to log on to our Modal-X website,” TDIS General Manager Sam Niness said. “MercuryGate has made it very easy for Modal-X customers to optimize intermodal options from one easy-to-use screen. That’s a big advantage for our customers.”
