Mexican terminal picks Tideworks

   Tideworks Technology, a provider of terminal management and planning software, said SSA Mexico (SSAM) has deployed the new Forecast customer service Web portal at its container terminal at Manzanillo, Mexico.
   Both Tideworks and SSA Mexico are subsidiaries of Carrix, one of the largest privately held marine and rail terminal operators.
   The Forecast Website provides terminal customers including ocean carriers, trucking companies, and customs brokers, with a single interface to get terminal and cargo information.
   “SSAM is the first site to deploy our newly redesigned, all-in-one customer service web portal,” said Michael Schwank, Tideworks president. “It is the result of months of R&D and the consolidation of two formerly separate customer-facing web tools: Mainsail Online, which was primarily for the terminal’s ocean carrier customers, and Forecast, for all other terminal customers.”
   From the Website, users set up a profile and are given access to information and options like:

• Check container statuses.
• Create and edit bookings.
• Request email notifications for container releases and other status updates.
• Log terminal service requests, such as customs inspections.
• View vessel schedules.
• Get terminal news.
• Run a series of shipment reports.
