Miami airport security issues warning on fence zones

Miami-Dade Aviation Department Security Director Ricardo Fernandez has issued a security directive noting that Miami International Airport air cargo tenants must adhere to fence line 'clear zone' rules.

Security rules require a minimum 10-foot clear zone on each side of the airport perimeter fence line. No vehicles, stairs, containers, carts, dumpsters or other objects can be located in the clear zones.

Companies that do not comply with the requirements could be subject to penalties. Fernandez asked all companies to alert employees to obey the rules.
