Miami International adds carrier

Miami International Airport gained one air carrier through the fiscal third quarter ending June 30, bringing the total number of airlines serving the airport to 93.

All-cargo carrier Lineas Aereas Suramericanas S.A. now serves Miami International as a charter carrier, according to a report from the Miami-Dade Aviation Department.

The airport has more South American flights than all other U.S. airports combined. It has more flights to Central America and to the Caribbean than any other airport, airport officials note.
