Miami International air cargo volumes increase

Miami International air cargo volumes increase Air freight volumes moving through Miami International Airport were up 7.6 percent during February, with all-cargo airlines seeing a 9.3 percent gain, according to Miami-Dade Aviation Department statistics.
   Total freight volumes increased to just more than 160,000 short tons, with all-cargo carriers handling 135,000 tons. Of that, 115,000 tons came from international moves, with 65,000 tons of inbound freight and 50,000 tons of export freight.
   The top five all-cargo carriers were:
   * LAN, 16,961 tons.
   * UPS, 14,363 tons, including 1,900 tons of domestic freight.
   * Arrow Cargo, 13,335 tons.
   * Centurion Air Cargo, 12,290 tons.
   * Colombia-based South American cargo specialist Tampa Cargo, 11,683 tons.
