Miami port entrance open Friday
Although there will be truck traffic slowdowns around the Port of Miami Friday afternoon during the Miami Heat parade and celebration, the port entrance will be open.
The City of Miami said access to the port will be open during the duration of the parade, but will briefly close some streets.
Starting at noon, Biscayne Boulevard will be closed south of I-395, but 5th and 6th streets and 1st and 2nd avenues will remain open most of the time.
The parade starts at 2 p.m. and must cross 5th and 6th streets, so those port access corridors will be closed briefly at the beginning of the parade.
Port officials said the activities will significantly impact port access, however, and warned port users to plan accordingly on Friday. The activities around American Airlines Arena are expected to continue until about 5 p.m.
