Miami program will look at China opportunities

A program billed as 'China Business 2008: Expanding Opportunities for Florida Companies,' will be held Jan. 30 at the Hilton Miami Airport Hotel.

   The half-day program is being presented by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Florida-China Association, the law firm of Holland & Knight, and the World Trade Center Miami. Other partners in the event include CAMACAL (Latin Chambers of Commerce), Enterprise Florida, the Florida Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association, the Florida Foreign Trade Association, Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Miami International Airport, Port of Miami, the Beacon Council, and Las Vegas Sands Corp.

   The event will feature a speech from Zhou Wenzhong, the Chinese ambassador to the United States, and several national and local experts on trade with China.

   Seminar session will range from the fundamental of doing business with China to background on resources in Florida that have experience in that market, and 'success stories' of business that have entered the China market.

   The event will run from 8 a.m. until noon.
