Military adding $93 million office building for logistics unit
A contract has been awarded to build a new building for the U.S. Transportation Command facility at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.
A contract was awarded to River City Construction L.L.C., East Peoria, Ill. The total contract value, including options, is $93.6 million.
The new building, due to be completed by 2010, will be about 180,000 square feet and will be located behind the current USTRANSCOM headquarters building.
The three-story facility will serve a number of functions, including a permanent headquarters for the U.S. Army’s Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command.
