Mische named vice president at Alliance
Robert W. Mische has been named vice president of Alliance Navigation LLC, a Jericho, N.Y.-based company that moves U.S. government-impelled cargo.
Affiliated with Hoegh Autoliners and Liberty Global Logistics, Alliance arranges transportation of government-impelled cargo on the U.S.-flag 'Alliance New York,' a roll-on/roll-off ship that is large enough to carry as many as 6,100 passenger cars, as well as on chartered vessels.
Alliance is used extensively to move cargo larger vehicles such a trucks, trailers and construction equipment to Iraq, regularly calling at the port of Umm Qasr.
Formerly general manager of logistics at H'egh Autoliners Inc., Mische joined Autoliners in July 1976. He has served in various management positions, with a particular career focus on forecasting, quality, pricing, customer service, project management and trade development.
Roy Winograd, president of Alliance, said Mische made significant contributions to the growth and success of H'egh, where they both worked previously.
“His strategic leadership skills and extensive knowledge of our operations and customer base will translate very well into the challenges Alliance Navigation will face,” Winograd said.
Alliance hopes to expand its fleet in the next several years, Winograd said.
