Mobile device logistics provider Ingram releases analytics solution

Ingram Micro Mobility division’s new solution is aimed at helping mobile device makers refine their supply chains based on integration of existing data and external customer data inputs.    Ingram Micro Mobility’s, a provider of product lifecycle solutions for the mobile device industry, has begun offering a advanced analytics solution.
   The solution is designed to use the wealth of data points available to mobile device manufacturers, along with current connected-device lifestyle trend and behavior analysis, to improve the decision-making ability of its supply chain team.
   “For businesses in the mobility and hi-tech industries, the enormous cache of digital data available through point-of-sale encounters, insurance claims, returns data, failure codes, data usage, recycling revenue and repair cost has made traditional analytical tools ineffective,” Ingram said. “Additionally, by combining this data with market intelligence and customer profiles, Ingram Micro Mobility’s Advanced Analytics solution helps reveal gaps in processes and services, contradictive actions and opportunities for cost savings.”

   Some of the analytics the solution is intended to provide include: predicting customer behavior by analyzing real-time data on device upgrades, trade-ins and buyers’ remorse returns; addressing the amount of product needed by store, region, and country; and determining total device lifecycle cost.
