Modern Terminals signs deal with outsourcing firm WNS

   The container terminal operator Modern Terminals has signed an agreement with the business process outsourcing company WNS, the companies announced this week.
   The deal will see the Modern, which operates a network of container terminals in Hong Kong, South China and Taicang (near Shanghai), work with WNS to provide shippers, forwarders, third party logistics firms and ocean carriers BPO (business processes outsourcing) services designed to reduce costs.
   “This strategic framework agreement with WNS will enable Modern Terminals to provide a combination of creative service options for our client base, beyond traditional port services,” said Peter J. Levesque, chief commercial officer for Modern Terminals in a statement.
   “WNS’s solutions for the shipping and logistics industry span several key business processes including bookings, tariff management, export and import documentation, terminal operations, equipment control, finance and accounting and analytics,” said Jaison Augustine, senior vice president and segment head for shipping and logistics at WNS. – Eric Johnson
