MOL car carrier collides with fishing vessel A 9,348-deadweight-ton car carrier operated by Japanese shipping line Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Tuesday afternoon collided with a fishing vessel in the entrance to the River Tyne in the United Kingdom.
   MOL's 'Pacific Angel' was outbound from the River Tyne when it collided with the 'Shaligar' at 2:10 p.m. local time.
   The two-man crew of the 'Shaligar' was uninjured. The bow of the vessel was badly damaged but it managed to make its way to Fish Quay at North Shields, escorted by a lifeboat.
   A spokesman for MOL told American Shipper that the car carrier suffered no damage or oil leakage and was able to continue on to Teesport.
   MOL has recently initiated a series of measures designed to improve its safety record.
