MOL SETS UP COST CONTROL UNIT AT TOKYO HEADQUARTERS    Mitsui O.S.K. Lines is setting up a cost control support department at its headquarters in Tokyo as part of a head office reorganization.
   The Japanese shipping group said that the move is to reduce costs and improve service. “The goal is to strengthen companywide cost competitiveness — a key goal of the ‘MOL NEXT’ mid-term management plan,” NYK said.
   Effective June 27, the new cost control support department and a cost control support team will be established in the corporate planning division of the group. The new department and team will launch a range of initiatives to enhance cost competitiveness, utilizing the benefits of scale and the synergy of MOL and MOL Group companies, the group said.
   Besides the cost control support department, the group’s corporate planning division now comprises a group planning department, a strategic business planning department, two corporate planning teams and a maritime planning team.
