More students receive Crowley scholarship funds

Two students from the Webb Institute naval architecture and marine engineering school have been awarded Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships from Jacksonville-based Crowley Maritime Corp.

Aurore Zuzick and Simmy Willemann were selected for the scholarships based on leadership qualities, school and community involvement, interest and dedication to the maritime industry, and academic success, a statement from Crowley Maritime said.

Zuzick is involved in several activities at the Glen Cove, N.Y., campus and has distinguished herself as a leader at the school, Crowley said.

Willemann has an interest in engineering, mathematics and design, and has received an initial exposure to the shipbuilding industry while at Webb. She is also a trained violinist who is a member of the Webb band.
