Motor carrier provisions, reforms hearing Tuesday

The Subcommittee on Highways and Transit will hear testimony on FAST implementation.

   The Subcommittee on Highways and Transit will hold a hearing Tuesday to examine the implementation of various motor carrier provisions and reforms passed in the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act (FAST) to, among other things, improve safety, reduce regulatory burdens and enhance employment opportunities for veterans.
    The hearing, which will be chaired by Rep. Sam Graves, R-Mo., is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Tueday in Room 2167 of the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C.
   Witnesses will include Ray Martinez, administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration; Dale Krapf, chairman of Krapf Transportation; Mike VanMaanen, owner of Eastern Missouri Commission Co. on behalf of the Livestock Marketing Association; Christopher Turner, president of the Commerccial Vehicle Safety Alliance; and Jennifer Tierney, board member of the Citizens for Reliable and Safe Highways on behalf of the Truck Safety Coalition.
