   The liner carrier Mediterranean Shipping Co. said this week it plans to hike rates from the Mediterranean to the United States on two occasions in the coming months.
   The first increase, on April 1, is $240 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot container. The second increase, on July 1, is $280 per 20-foot container and $350 per 40-foot container.
   The increases apply to origins in Portugal, Spain, Italy, southern France, Israel, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Albania, and Montenegro.

It applies to destinations in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Maldives, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq, Yemen, Jordan, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan.
