MSC announced this week that it will start a new dedicated service between Asia and West Africa.
The service will be called the Africa Express, and will use 10 4,000-TEU vessels, with the first vessel sailing Thursday from Nansha.
MSC said that all existing volumes currently moved in transshipment via the Mediterranean will now be shipped directly to West Africa. The transit time will be 28 days from Chiwan to Tinca-Lagos, and 23 days from Singapore to Tinca-Lagos.
The port rotation is: Nansha, Chiwan, Singapore, Port Louis, Tincan Island-Lagos, San Pedro, Abidjan, Coega, Colombo, Singapore, and Nansha.
