Key Takeaways:

MSC makes changes to Americas services    Following the start of a new weekly U.S. East Coast/Brazil service, Mediterranean Shipping Co. has altered the port rotation on three existing services linking the U.S. East Coast with South America.
The weekly “Amazonia Express” will stop calls at Miami, Freeport in the Bahamas, Puerto Cabello and Rio de Janeiro. Port Everglades, where MSC operates a terminal, will replace the Miami call. The growing port of Caucedo in the Dominican Republic is added to the rotation.
The “Amazonia Express” uses six ships of about 2,000 TEUs and now calls Port Everglades, Fla.; Houston, Texas; Altamira, Mexico; Veracruz, Mexico; Caucedo; Port of Spain; Vitoria; Santos; Salvador; Suape; Pecem; Caucedo; and back to Port Everglades.
Caucedo also replaces calls at Freeport, Bahamas and Rio Haina on the weekly “Argentina Express” service.
The “Argentina Express” uses six ships of about 2,700 TEUs and has a revised port rotation of Norfolk, Baltimore, New York, Charleston, Caucedo, Puerto Cabello, Santos, Buenos Aires, Rio Grande, Santos, Caucedo, and back to Norfolk
MSC's weekly U.S./West Coast South America service has stopped its one call in the U.S. at Jacksonville, and will now serve the U.S. via Freeport, in the Bahamas. The service now moves cargo from MSC’s transshipment hub in Freeport to the West Coast South America.
The revised service is fixed-day weekly and has a port rotation of Freeport, Bahamas; Caucedo; Cartagena, Colombia; Buenaventura; Callao; Arica; San Antonio; San Vicente; Callao; Buenaventura; Caucedo; and back to Freeport.
CSX World Terminals-operated Caucedo commenced operations in December last year. According to ComPairData, the global liner shipping database, the three new calls at the port mean that nine deep-sea services now call at the new terminal.
The revised transit times for these services are all posted at ComPair Data, the global liner shipping database at www.compairdata.com .
