MSC moved from Busan to Ningbo in 2005, from where it delivered cargo to cities in northern China, but has decided to return to the Korea port, which is seeking to become the primary transshipment hub in Northeast Asia.
The port said in a statement that it expects MSC will add 400,000 TEUs of transshipment volume. Busan handled 12.6 million TEUs in 2006.
