The new service uses five ships averaging 2,935 TEUs, adding about 152,000 TEUs in annual one-way capacity to the trade. The port rotation for the new service is: Veracruz, Mexico; Altamira, Mexico; Houston, Texas; Port Everglades, Fla.; Freeport, Bahamas; Savannah, Ga.; Barcelona; La Spezia; Valencia; Freeport; and back to Veracruz.
The ports of Genoa, Leghorn and Fos are served via Valencia, while cargo to and from Naples is transshipped via La Spezia.
The new service compliments MSC’s existing service in the trade that uses four ships averaging 2,600 TEUs, calling at Boston, New York, Baltimore, Norfolk, Valencia, Naples, La Spezia, Sines and back to Boston.
