MSC to raise Europe-to-ECSA rates
The Swiss liner carrier Mediterranean Shipping Co. said Thursday it will increasing the peak season surcharge it assesses on cargo moving from Northwest Europe to the East Coast of South America.
The surcharge will increase to $350 per TEU on June 15, from $250 per TEU. The carrier also said that on July 1, it will raise rates on the same trade by $150 per TEU.
MSC said the increases were made 'in view of the current and projected vessels' space availability.'
