MSC (USA) hires Magna to head West Coast sales

MSC (USA) hires Magna to head West Coast sales    Mediterranean Shipping Co. (USA) Inc. has hired former Hyundai Merchant Marine executive Robert A. Magna as vice president of sales, West Coast, based in the company’s Costa Mesa office in California. The company has also promoted his predecessor, Giancarlo Morgera, to vice president of liner services.
   Magna was most recently vice president of sales at Hyundai. Prior to his 10 years with the Korean shipping line, he worked with NYK Line for its transatlantic services and with P&O Containers.
   Morgera, who has been with MSC since 1984, will be in charge of liner services and be based at the company’s New York headquarters. He originally worked as a deck officer at sea for two years, and then for another two years as port captain in England. Morgera spent the next 14 plus years in increasingly responsible management positions in the United States in operations and liner services. He has been president of sales, West Coast for the past eight years.
