MSC vessel sets record in New Orleans
A Mediterranean Shipping Co. vessel that arrived at the Port of New Orleans Wednesday night was scheduled to have more than 2,000 container moves, setting a new record for containers handled for a single vessel at the port.
The “Carolina,” which is deployed in MSC’s Gulf/Europe service, had 2,105 container moves scheduled, port officials said. All four of the port’s gantry cranes at the Napoleon Avenue Container Terminal were working the vessel. The work was scheduled to be finished Thursday morning.
