MTCH BUYS STEVENS SHIPPING    MTC Holdings (MTCH), based in Oakland, Calif., has acquired the Stevens Shipping and Terminal Co.
   Stevens, based in Savannah, Ga., operates facilities for handling container, breakbulk, automobiles, roll-on/roll-off, and bulk commodities in a number of Southern cities, including Wilmington, N.C., Charleston, S.C., Brunswick, Ga., and Jacksonville, Fla.
   This move expands MTCH's network of U.S. operating subsidiaries, with the intent of developing a new customer base in South Atlantic states.
   Privately held MTC Holdings provides services that include stevedoring, terminal management, technology systems, and equipment and repair systems to maritime and intermodal industries through its network of operating subsidiaries.
