Mullen to lead CBP policy office

Mullen to lead CBP policy office    Michael Mullen has been named acting director of the Office of Policy and Planning at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, spokeswoman Kia Evans confirmed.
   Mullen, director of trade relations within the commissioner’s office, replaces acting director Nicolle Sciarra, who has moved to a policy position at Department of Homeland Security headquarters. Mullen’s transfer was first reported by the Journal of Commerce.
   In addition to developing agency policy, the Office of Policy and Planning establishes statistical and other processes for the agency to measure its performance.
   The acting director of trade relations is Larry Rosenzweig, Evans said. Rosenzweig was deputy executive director for trade compliance and facilitation.
