N.C. leaders appoint port authority members

N.C. leaders appoint port authority members    North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue appointed Robert O. Hill Jr. of Wilmington and Simon Rich III of Edenton to the North Carolina State Ports Authority Board, while the leaders of the House and Senate reappointed two other board members, the state agency announced Tuesday.
   Hill is the retired chief executive officer of family-owned Hillco Ltd., a mid-Atlantic area nursing home and assisted living operator, and has served on many health care boards and associations. He received a three-year term.
   Rich is partner and general manager of Stevens Towing, a tugboat and barge company. He received a six-year term.
   Board members Derryl Garner and Jesse Capel were reappointed with two-year terms.
