N.Y./N.J. Forwarders & Brokers honor Larrabee

The New York-New Jersey Foreign Freight Forwarders and Brokers Association has selected Richard M. Larrabee, director of the Port Commerce Department of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, to receive its 2010 Person of the Year Award.

The award will be presented during the association’s annual dinner at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Jan. 27.

“Mr. Larrabee is being honored for his leadership in the management and operation of the major marine terminal facilities within the largest port on the East Coast in North America-the Port of New York and New Jersey,” said Matthew Brauner, association president.

Prior to joining the port authority, Larrabee held the rank of rear admiral in the U.S. Coast Guard. He served as commander of the First Coast Guard District in Boston, where he oversaw all Coast Guard operations in the U.S. Northeast.
