N.Y.-N.J. Port Authority adds 81 police officers

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey added 81 new officers to the Port Authority Police Department over the weekend, graduating 65 men and 16 women from its police academy.

   Created in 1928, the port authority police force has about 1,600 members who patrol the port, airports, bridges, tunnels, bus facilities and rapid transit system.
