N.Y.-N.J. port police honoring Giuliani
The U.S. Chapter of the International Association of Airport and Seaport Police said former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will be the first recipient of the Fred V. Morrone Memorial Award.
The award will be presented June 7 during the group’s annual meeting in Washington.
The Morrone Award, to be awarded annually, commemorates the service and sacrifice of police who defend airports and seaports. It is named for Fred Morrone, superintendent of the New York and New Jersey Port Authority Police Department, who was one of 37 port police officers who died in the World Trade Towers on Sept. 11, 2001.
