NACA IMPLEMENTS FREIGHTGATEÆS SOFTWARE

NACA Logistics Group has implemented Freightgate’s U.S. Federal Maritime Commission tariff publishing software, FMC-Trek!, into its operations.

Michael Dye, NACA’s senior vice president for global sales and services, called the implementation of FMC-Trek! “a step ahead of the competition in terms of accuracy, ease of use and the simplified pricing structure.”

Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Freightgate developed FMC-Trek! to be integrated with a non-vessel-operating common carrier’s booking system.

Rates are fed to the system using XML (extensible markup language) and posted to a queue where potential conflicts are automatically detected, Freightgate said. If an automatic correction is not possible, an alert is sent for human intervention. Rates without conflict are automatically published after a pre-determined period.

NACA is the Southern California-based corporation of NVOs Direct Container Line, Brennan International Transport and Conterm Consolidation Services.
