NACPC launches cooperative chassis pool in Charleston

The 40-foot premium chassis are equipped with radial tires, LED lights and auto inflation systems.    The North American Chassis Pool Cooperative (NACPC) has launched a pool of 40-foot premium chassis in Charleston, S.C. in partnership with Consolidated Chassis Management (CCM).
   The chassis pool is located outside the Port of Charleston, and the chassis will be available for daily, short-term and long-term lease, the NACPC said.
   The chassis are equipped with radial tires, LED lights and auto inflation systems.
   The Charleston operation has been in place for about 45 days as a test and has been very successful, NACPC Vice President of Sales Rich Mazur told American Shipper. It’s open to the entire local trucking and intermodal dray community in Charleston, and all that is required is an interchange agreement, which confirms insurance and accountability, he explained.
   NACPC, in partnership with CCM, also launched chassis pools in Houston in July 2016; Savannah, Ga. in August 2016; and the Ohio Valley in January 2017.
