Nansha suffers volume decline in July

   Container volume at the deepwater Port of Nansha complex in the western Pearl River Delta declined in July, as the port was affected by poor economic conditions and bad weather, the Guangzhou Port Group said.
   Volume fell 6.8 percent year-on-year to 746,000 TEUs, though for year-to-date, volume is still 15.5 percent higher in than the corresponding in 2011 at 5.4 million TEUs.
   Total volume at Guangzhou Port Group terminals – which include river ports nearer the southern China city – fell 6.1 percent in July to 969,000 TEUs. Year-to-date, GPG’s total volume has risen 11.4 percent to 6.9 million TEUs.
