Naples TEUs up 19% in 2006
Italy’s Port of Naples posted a 19.1 percent rise in container throughput in 2006 to 441,982 TEUs.
Naples Port Authority president Francesco Nerli said that the expected increase in container traffic emphasized the importance of the new Levante terminal, on which work is due to start in the summer.
“We shall do what we can because we want to complete the modernization and expansion of the port where the Levante terminal is the most important work to be completed,” said Nerli.
