The American Association of Exporters and Importers will have Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano as the keynote speaker for its annual conference and expo in New York on June 5-7.

AAEI said the Obama administration will send top agency officials to the event to promote the National Export Initiative. Speakers will include Eric Hirschhorn, undersecretary of the Commerce Department Bureau of Industry and Security, and Brian Nilsson, chairman of the White House Export Control Reform Task Force, both of whom will discuss the administration's progress with export control reform.

Other program highlights include Consumer Protection and Safety Commission General Attorney Jeremy Baskin, as well as panels on Customs and Border Protection's Automated Commercial Environment, trade policy, interagency developments, and security program updates.

The conference theme, 'Celebrating 90 Years of Moving Trade Forward,' will point up AAEI's role in U.S. trade history in the 20th and 21st centuries.
