Nassau County board honors Seaboard Marine
The Nassau County Economic Development Board Friday presented Seaboard Marine with its 'Business Expansion and Retention Award' for the Miami-based carrier's expanded operations at the Port of Fernandina Beach.
NCECB officials said Seaboard has shown its commitment to the area as one of the port's largest tenants since 1999 and for expanding from two employees to 10 employees during that time. Seaboard now has two weekly services from Fernandina to five Caribbean countries.
At the NCEDB's annual Business and Industry Appreciation Dinner at Amelia Island Plantation, Seaboard's Frank Cueto commented: “We have appreciated the support and partnership of the port community, especially Nassau Terminals, for the past decade. Trade is growing rapidly to Latin America and the Caribbean and we are poised to take advantage of such in North Florida with our partners.'
