National Retail Systems launches trailer management system

National Retail Systems launches trailer management system    National Retail Systems Inc. (NRS), a retail logistics services provider, has introduced i-Dock, a management system for trailer yards.
   The new application gives NRS visibility of all yard activity at its U.S. facilities, combining data feeds from live video, satellite, radio frequency and barcode technology into a central database accessed by a graphical interface.
   NRS's facilities include distribution centers and terminals in New Jersey, California, Florida, the mid-Atlantic states and the northern Midwest. During a period of development at NRS's cross-docking facility in North Bergen, N.J., i-Dock reduced driver time for pickups by 75 percent, increased trailer switching turns from three-per-hour to 10-per-hour, and eliminated almost all theft inside the facility.
